We’re inviting local residents and businesses located closest to the site to attend a virtual event about our proposed anaerobic digestion plant at Kellysgrove, Ballinasloe Co. Galway.

The virtual meeting will be held online via Microsoft Teams, at 19.00 on Tuesday 29th July.  The meeting will last up to 90 minutes and can be accessed via an internet-enabled mobile phone or computer.

Site information overview

The planned medium-sized agri-centric plant will produce biogas from organic by-products as such manure, slurry and crop waste, helping to reduce carbon emissions and generating local employment opportunities.  For more information about these plans, take a look at our leaflet about AD, biomethane and the proposed development.

The proposed biogas plant at Kellysgrove will comprise of 2 primary digesters, 2 secondary digesters, 1 digestate storage tank, a feedstock reception building, a roofed silage clamp, a gas grid injection point, and an office building. It will not process food waste and will use Best Available Technology to control odours. Using a combined heat and power unit to generate electricity, the site will meet its own energy needs and will use an existing entrance, used by the existing the industrial development situated to the north of the site. Other important information about the site such as operating hours and traffic management will be presented  during the presentation at this meeting.

The event will be hosted by members of the CycleØ team and other experts and will feature a live Q&A where you’ll be able to ask questions.
